Submission Guidelines

Submission Deadline: November 12, 2020 | Please be prepared to take needed photographs of your work within the next week.

How to register & submit pieces:

  1. Register for a free account as a user. Click the 'Register' button, and fill in the details using your email account.
  2. Once registered, click the 'login' button and the 'Add New Submission' button to add a couple of entries and corresponding images.

Submission Details:

  • All submissions must include detailed photos, videos, and/or sketches.
  • An artist statement does not need to be completed at this time.  Artists are asked to submit one sentence explaining how your piece relates to the exhibition theme.
  • Submissions must also include a list of materials used and dimensions.
  • It is preferred that digital work such as films/video work  be submitted as .mp4 files and audio as .mp3
  • Artists must indicate whether the work is completed or in progress.

Note: if your piece needs to be installed in a specific manner, you may need to provide all installation materials and specify specific methods of installation.

If you wish to submit a proposal instead of an already completed project, follow the previous process, but instead of submitting photos of your work, please follow the following guidelines. Note that works that are incomplete on the November 12 submission date that the Committee would like to consider for the exhibition, will require an additional review upon completion.  Images of completed work and any updates to the original proposal must be submitted by the end of the month.

2D/3D Proposal Guidelines:

While we encourage you to think big, please keep in mind that there are limitations on amount of space. Your proposal submission to the exhibition committee should include photographs or sketches, materials used, detailed plans for installation, and a brief explanation of how your installation relates to the exhibition theme. Should your proposal be selected, you should be prepared to be present for installation of your work to coordinate with the BRDD Exhibition Executive Committee. All work must be dropped off in early December. All work should be removed from the space promptly at the end of the exhibition. Spaces for an installation would be the Cohen Gallery on the first floor. You may propose any type of work, but be sure to include plenty of documentation.

Performance Proposal Guidelines:

You can submit a proposal for an incomplete piece or for a performance to be delivered in a virtual format.
During the weeks of our exhibition, there is plenty of time for us to host related virtual programming that could include a performance or live music event.  During your submission, please include a description of your performance, including relevant information such as the duration and equipment needs. We will also need a brief explanation of how your performance responds to the exhibition theme.

Please contact brddexhibition@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding specific works.
